Ten people bought a total of 17 systems. Makes you wonder what the install base really is compared to the total number of units sold.

Publishers often put a stipulation on embargoes that the review can be released early if it rates above a certain score. Doesn't mean it's a biased or "bought" review, but it does mean it's not necessarily in line with other reviews.

Same thing goes for the inevitable Killzone 3 early reviews as well.

I hated them. I think if you hold your middle fingers on the L2 and R2 buttons, they would work really nicely, but I just found them to be awkward and uncomfortable when I reach for those buttons with my index fingers. A lot of people do seem to love them, though.

Just don't make me pay an extra $30 a month for a "data package" with the carrier. I don't need my phone to browse the internet or check e-mail, I just want a phone that doubles as a game system and can use Remote Play.

If you advertise before the product is released, it just confuses some people. Especially when day one allocations are expected to be sold out with pre-orders.

The Eye could do most of that with software if Sony chose to release it, but you're right that, with its 3D capabilities, Kinect can do things the Eye can't.

So far it's been the standalone kinect unit that has been selling, meaning it's selling to existing 360 owners. The flip side of that is that the potential new owners are not the type of people who pre-order.

...you should probably blame the Wii, because Kinect is the second one to show up at that party.

It sounds like they have fixed a couple of the biggest problems with KZ2. Tactician's spawn grenades and the Assault class both were horrible. My only concern now is that the rocket launcher is still in there, and is actually a secondary weapon. You can now carry a LMG AND a rocket launcher?!? I hope they do something to eliminate the suicide run idiots.

There seems to be two kinds of "gamers", those who wear that title as hobbyists who have a genuine appreciation of the medium, and those who use it as an elitist label to separate them from the inferior "casuals".

I'm pretty sure Microsoft has said that they are planning to integrate Kinect tech into PC's.

5568d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

It's not 14 million Kinect units that have shipped, it's 14 million of the cameras that Kinect uses. Microsoft could very well be stockpiling them somewhere. Certainly they must expect to use up them pretty quickly, but this doesn't necessarily mean that's what they will use up in the next couple months.

This was clearly an ad, though. They would of course pick the people who had good things to say about it. You don't see game packages quoting the bad reviews, do you?

5568d ago 4 agree1 disagreeView comment

When is the embargo? Mid November, right? It is a little suspect if the embargo is a couple weeks after release, but even if reviews are bad, it probably won't affect sales this year because so many casuals who don't read reviews will buy it.

Let me turn that around on you, though, and coin the term DiMs: Disciples of Microsoft.

I'm not defending the Sony fanboys. Fanboys are idiots no matter what their affiliation. That's kinda what the term "fanboy" means.

You are right, though, that people should just let others enjoy what they want to enjoy, whether it me Kinect or Move. I am a Sony fan - I have never been disappointed by any Sony product I've owned - but I can recogni...

What do you think about this early positive review, and what will you say when Killzone 3 gets early positive reviews?

You might be right if you mean that no individual casual gamer spends a lot of money on games, but casual gamers as a group spend HUGE amounts of money. Look at the list linked below.

In a way, i agree, but do i think you could review a fitness game without seeing the fitness results if you are a fitness expert. In other words, I wouldn't read gaming magazines or websites for reviews of the fitness games, i would look at the reviews from fitness magazines and websites.

Because it's a lot easier to produce a few dozen or a few hundred to bring around to trade shows than it is to produce a few million to have available at launch.
